About Me
I trained as a Clinical Psychologist at University College London (UCL) between 2010 and 2013. During my training I worked across several NHS psychology services in London, gaining experience of working with clients across the age range and using several different psychological models including CBT, CAT, Solution Focused Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapies.
Prior to Clinical Psychology training I worked with children, adolescents and young adults in social care, special education and youth work in Manchester and Lancashire. This gave me an excellent grounding in understanding child and adolescent development, particularly for those growing up in challenging environments.
I work in collaboration with my clients, ensuring that they understand my reasoning for the psychological interventions that I propose. I think it's important that clients, including adolescents, understand the process of psychological therapy so that they can continue to build on this understanding once therapy has ended.

Living and working in Portugal
Living in Portugal and working online presents some interesting challenges and opportunities. I like the calmer pace of life here as well as the beautiful landscapes that we have in the North of Portugal.
Living in Portugal also brings its own stresses and challenges which I think helps me to empathise with the difficulties experienced by others who are living and working abroad and across cultural differences.

Working from home also means that I get to spend the day with my dog. She is usually curled up and snoozing whilst I am working but you might occasionally see her moving around the room.
